Filtering within lists
The new Fabasoft Folio features enable you to apply specific filter values to specific items within a list. A filter value can be set for each column: only entries containing the text will be displayed. Within the filter text you can use patterns like “*” and “?” to signify partial values. One filter can also be applied to several columns at a time. In combination with the scrolling feature, this is a new, efficient way to work with long lists.
Calculating within lists
An additional new feature is the option to calculate the total, average and quantity from the values in the columns. The results are displayed at the bottom. These features are applicable for whole numbers, floating point numbers and currencies. If you are using groups, each of the calculated values will be provided for each group. If you are applying a filter, only the filtered values will be used for the calculation. In case the features provided are not sufficient, additional features can be defined for the project.
Release status: improved and extended
When you work on and approve a document, it is often useful to immediately be able to read the released version. If you want to continue working on the document right away, the 2011 Summer Release will be of great value to you: the released document is now accessible for others through a simple adjustment in the menu settings. This setting can also be set as a default. You can see at first glance if there is a released version and if it is currently in use. The released version of a document can now be used in the workflow and you can, for example, enforce an acknowledgement of the status. When you try to edit the released version of a document, you will be informed that you can only edit the current version, and you can choose to switch to the current version right away. Depending on your project requirements, you can define specific properties of an object that can be modified even if the status of the document has not yet been released.
We utilize these features directly with our partners in projects related to a GMP.
Developers: using JSON web services in browsers
We have now expanded and simplified the support of online services based on SOAP: now you can utilize online services directly in the web browser using JSON. As previously, web service definitions are defined using app.ducx: multiple use cases may be merged into one online service definition and can be retrieved with a defined URL. Input parameters can be transfered as JSON input with HTTP-POST or directly as URL parameters with HTTP-GET.
Support for Mac OS X Lion
We finally connected our designers. Mac OS X Lion is now supported as a client platform following the 2011 Summer Release. The Fabasoft Folio plugin recognizes Safari and Firefox along with office products including Microsoft Office:mac, OpenOffice.org and Apple iWork. You can also use Outlook in addition to the integrated email client.
Additional Fabasoft Folio news:
- Searching within a tree, expanding and collapsing all levels
Even easier navigation within a tree: search for a specific level and expand/collapse all sublevels. - Insert screenshots directly
Now you can insert screenshots directly as an image from the clipboard. - List filter expressions are also applicable in a tree
When you select a filter expression in the menu, the same expression is automatically applied in the tree. - Applications are opened as an overlay
Up until recently, a new browser window was opened to get the detail view. Now you can get this detail view through an overlay – making for a smoother work flow and easy to get used to. - Archiving related objects
If you are using iArchive for large projects, optimizations for collective archiving will be of interest to you! Instead of saving individual files per archived object, now several objects are saved collectively bringing clear performance advantages when it comes to large projects with a lot of meta data. In addition, storage will be more compact on the long term medium! - Citrix: Fabasoft Folio printer ports for “Printing from Fabasoft Folio”
The Fabasoft Folio printer ports for printing documents from Fabasoft Folio can now be applied in Citrix. - Fabasoft Folio Plugin facilitates End-2-End
The Fabasoft Folio Plugin now supports Application Performance Monitoring via Fabasoft app.telemetry.
